Ewa Taryma-Myslinski was born and raised in Poland. Ewa graduated from the European Academy of Arts in Warsaw, Poland, where she was fortunate to be personally invited to study for over 5 years and graduate under one of the most famous living Polish artists, Prof. Franciszek Starowieyski. She is considered his only artistic protégé. Her studies at the Academy included painting, drawing, lithography and graphics in a variety of techniques.
Ewa has been invited to participate in many art exhibitions in Poland, France, Germany, Spain and Canada. In 2003 she won first prize in the second international “Sacrum in Art” competition under the patronage of Pope John-Paul II. She was also a prize winner at the “XIII International Biennale in Graphics” exhibition in Spain. Her paintings are collected by several museums and many private collectors on three continents.
Ewa’s art cannot be categorized within a single medium or technique because she works in various media; from oil, pastel and coal chalk to watercolors and graphics. She has such a broad range and feels comfortable in so many formats that she has the benefit of being able to select the style and technique she considers best for a particular work of art.
In Europe her art was focused primarily on people and their feelings, but after arriving in Canada in 2003, landscape became equally important in her art because of the open and beautiful Canadian environment. Ewa has lived in the Bay Area since 2005. Indeed, the wonderful Canadian and American landscapes have opened up a whole new and exciting aspect of her artistic life.
